Anne, at In Residence, hosts a linkup on the first Wednesday of every month and invites readers to share a few things that they are currently up to. Be sure to head over to Anne’s blog and see what everyone is up to this month.
sharing – childcare duties. Man, how has life changed in just the past couple of weeks, huh? Our schools have closed (as of now until April 17th, but we are anticipating even longer). So I have gone to a 3 day work week for the foreseeable future. I am watching the girls on Mondays and Fridays, my sister-in-law is keeping them on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Robert watches them on Wednesday. I am enjoying getting to be a part-time stay at home mom. It’s definitely been something positive/enjoyable for me from out of this craziness!
writing – Amber Rae’s Journal Your Feelings for 30 Days. I started this a couple of days after the challenge started and I have missed a doing a day here or there consecutively, but I’m committed to doing all the prompts whether it ends up taking me 60 days or not. I want to become a better journaler and I always get stuck on what to journal about. This challenge has prompts that make you stop and really think about how you are feeling and the prompts are pretty relevant to what the world is going though right now. I’m excited to see this challenge through and hopefully learn more about myself through the process.
wishing – for this craziness to wind down and be over soon. I am hoping that some good will come from this, such as families realize that slowing down and just spending time with one another is what matters. That maybe we need to reevaluate things and figure out what really matters in life.
investigating – nothing really. The only thing I’ve really been looking into lately is how COVID-19 is going to affect our workplace and our employees. I wish this was a more interesting answer, but it is what it is.
buying – not toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and Lysol wipes because there is none to be found! Honestly, just mainly been buying groceries as needed and nothing else. Robert and I have just decided to focus on not spending too much during this time since there are so many unknowns/uncertainty for the foreseeable future. We are very fortunate to both still be able to work (him remotely and me going into work 3 days a week and using sick time for the other two days), but as we have learned recently…things can change very quickly and we want to be smart and prepared as possible in case we are temporarily let go or something happens that we aren’t able to be paid. With that being said…I realize we are very fortunate to still have jobs and my heart hurts for those that have been temporarily laid off or small business owners that had to shut their doors. I just have no words…it just makes me so sad.
Hang in there everyone, we will get through this and hopefully it will be better on the other side!
Join in next month where we will be talking about what we are currently making, missing, learning, loving, and reading.
Until next time…keep it simple!
